B. P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology encourages all students to undertake internships as a structured part of their degree. The institute's view is straightforward: classroom learning builds a foundation, but the ability to apply that knowledge in a working environment is what employers actually test during placements. Students who have completed internships consistently perform better in selection processes because they can speak from real experience rather than theory alone.
Internships at BPPIMT are facilitated through the Placement Cell, which maintains contacts with companies open to taking students from BBA, BCA and BBA Business Analytics programmes. Students typically work on live assignments — data analysis, business reporting, operations support, marketing campaigns or software development tasks depending on the host organisation. The duration generally ranges from four to eight weeks, scheduled during the summer break to avoid disruption to academic calendars.
Beyond the practical skills gained, internships give students an early look at professional environments: how teams are structured, how work is communicated, and what is expected of someone entering the workforce. Several students who have interned with companies have received pre-placement offers or been fast-tracked in the same company's campus recruitment drive the following year.
Students interested in internship opportunities should register their interest with the Placement Cell at the start of the academic year so that suitable openings can be matched to their programme and career interests.
